The beautiful, electric pink pigment is the perfect introduction to the freshly risen bread dough, ripe strawberry and lemon blossom aromas; the flavors are bright and delicate with peach and brioche crust notes evolving into slate, sweet tart and watermelon rinds on the finish.
Owned by the Eakle family Pope Valley Winery is located in the northeastern hills just beyond Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. Our two estate vineyards with a combined 80 planted acres, at the winery and our Eakle Ranch vineyard, yield rich distinctive wines characteristic of the terroir.
The grapes were grown in our Sangiovese block farmed especially for Rosé. We give the vines a little more water and room to grow to create the subtle fresh flavor we love. This lot was harvested early, at 20 degrees brix to retain the bright acidity which is the hallmark of a great sparkling wine. The base wine was made in stainless steel, then fermented in bottling according to the Méthode Traditionnelle, and aged en tirage for four months.
