2015 Bella Rosa

Sold Out

Lovely aromas are evident upon the first whiff – wild strawberry, watermelon, and ripe nectarine are mesmerizing. There is a hint of rose petal weaving throughout the seductive fruit scents. This is a very plush wine, and it immediately coats the palate with creamy black cherry flavors and notes of juicy red apple. There is a hint of subtle white pepper and spice toward the finish, which balances out the many layers of red fruit flavors. This flamboyant Sangiovese Rose ends with a mouthwatering finish that begs another sip!

Enjoy on a sunny day with light appetizers or with grilled salmon.

The Vineyard:

The Eakle Ranch is the source of this outgoing Sangiovese Rose. Located in the northeast hills above Napa Valley, this 80-acre ranch has a small plot of Sangiovese vines that are lovingly tended. The diverse soils of this location are mainly Pleasanton Loam with intermittent areas of Bressa-Dibble Complex, which gives the vines sufficient nutrient uptake and proper drainage. After harvest, the cold, free run Sangiovese juice is gently pumped to tank before fermentation to avoid oxygen to preserve the delicate aromas. Only 88 cases of this crowd-favorite Rose were produced.

The Winemaking:

Meticulously-farmed grapes means that only the best clusters make the final cut. A Rhone yeast strain was selected to ferment this wine providing the long finish and palate structure.  Utmost care is taken in the cellar to preserve the beautiful salmon color of the wine as well as the lovely red fruit aromas and refreshing flavors that make this Rose so delicious.
