Pope Valley Wines
2006 Old Vine Chenin Blanc, Meyercamp Ranch, Napa Valley
We sourced the fruit for this wine from
vines planted in 1948. The three acre vineyard is carefully
tended to by our team throughout the year and yield’s about
6 tons annually. The fruit is harvested at first light and
whole cluster pressed to tank for cold settling. The juice
is then barrel fermented and aged sur lie for 8 moths in
neutral French oak barrels. About 30% of the wine is put
through Malolactic fermentation to round out the acid and
add another layer of complexity to this wine.

2006 Late Harvest Chenin Blanc, Meyercamp Ranch, Napa
Valley
At over 60 years old, our Chenin Blanc vines
produce a very small amount of rich and flavorful fruit. We
decided to allot about 1 acre of vines to the Late Harvest
program. After spending an extra 35 days hanging on the
vines, the yield was less than 2 tons. The fruit (nearly
raisins at this point) was pressed and fermented down to 4%
sugar. Served chilled, this is a refreshing glass of wine
that pairs well with a warm lemon tart or fruit cobbler.

2006 Bella Rosa Sangiovese, Napa Valley
Don't be fooled by the pale color of this
wine, it has deep complexity and a full body for a Rosé. Our
Bella Rosa (Beautiful Rose) was produced by “Bleeding” juice
from the Sangiovese prior to fermentation. The French call
this technique “Saignée”. The wine was fermented dry and
aged for 8 months in neutral oak barrels. Best served
chilled by the pool side or with a cheese and dried fruit
plate.

2006 Sangiovese, Eakle Ranch, Napa Valley
Our Sangiovese vines thrive in the warm Pope
Valley sun producing rich and flavorful fruit. Prior to
fermentation some of the juice was drained from the tank (a
process called “Saignée”) to create our Bella Rosa. This
process not only yields a beautiful Rosé, but it helps to
concentrate the remainder of the wine. After 12 months in
French oak barrels our Sangiovese exhibits all the complex
flavors this varietal has to offer.
