Ownership of Pope Valley Winery
Ed's children, Sam & Lily Haus operated the winery until
1959.
Then in 1972 the Devitt Family purchased it. The Devitt family
then decide to sell the winery in the mid 90's.
Long time Pope Valley residents Jim, Sam, and Henry Eakle, Ralf
Gerdes, Manny Gomes and Rodney Young joined together to purchase
this historical winery in 1997 and brought new life back into the
Pope Valley.
In 2009 the next generation of Eakle's stepped in to continue
building and furthering the families vision for Pope Valley Winery
as a fine winemaking establishment. Currently siblings, David Eakle
as winemaker (along with consultant Shaun Richardson) and Diana
Eakle Hawkins as general manager, are making great strides in
brining Pope Valley Winery to the next level.
